Eintracht Frankfurt keen on Timo Werner

Eintracht Frankfurt are considering Timo Werner as a potential replacement for Omar Marmoush, as any move will depend on Tottenham’s call.

According to Football Insider, Timo Werner has emerged as a potential target for Eintracht Frankfurt this month. The Bundesliga side considers the Tottenham winger as one of the options to replace Manchester City-linked Omar Marmoush as the on-loan RB Leipzig star continues to struggle for relevance in north London.

Eintracht Frankfurt have seemingly decided to cash in on one of their key stars in, Omar Marmoush, and now, they will begin looking for replacements. Manchester City are close to signing the Egyptian who has had an exceptional season so far with 18 goals and 12 assists for the German side.

Losing Marmoush will leave a huge gap for Frankfurt to fill and one they cannot ignore. Hence, they will begin the search for a viable replacement, as they are considering Timo Werner as a potential option to succeed the Egyptian in the team.

Werner might have underwhelmed in the Premier League, but his record in the Bundesliga has been above average during stints with Stuttgart and twice with RB Leipzig. Frankfurt could view his versatility to play wide and centrally as something similar to Marmoush, as they will also expect his price to drop following some disap[pointing performances while on loan at Tottenham.

The lack of minutes under Ange Postecoglou could play a massive part in the 28-year-old utility man’s decision-making, especially if Frankfurt are to offer him an important role. Werner has been criticised by many sections of the Tottenham fan base, although any decision on his future will depend on Spurs, who have yet to rule out a permanent deal

Will Tottenham allow Timo Werner to exit?

While the interest from Frankfurt has not reached a concrete level yet, there might be the possibility of Werner leaving before the current window shuts. Tottenham are in the market looking for new players, and they are linked with a few attacking names like Randal Kolo Muani

The idea of singing a new attacker might allow them to part ways with Werner, with the 28-year-old utility man not necessarily seen as vital to their plans. Leipzig could also consider any offers from Frankfurt, and together with Spurs, they could potentially cancel his current loan agreement.
