Cristiano Ronaldo wants to reunite with former Real Madrid and Manchester United teammate Casemiro at Al-Nassr.

Casemiro is parting ways with Manchester United and making the move to the Saudi Pro League. The Saudi Sovereign Fund have already struck a deal for his services. While a deal has practically been sealed, they are yet to decide the club he will be joining.

According to a report from Fichajes, Cristiano Ronaldo wants him at Al-Nassr. The Portuguese international has played a lot of his football alongside the Brazilian and is now keen on reuniting with him in the Middle East.

Casemiro to leave Manchester United

United forked out a massive €60 million to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022. While he had an exceptional debut season, the 32-year-old has had a significant dip in form in recent seasons. He is nowhere close to the level he was on during his time in Spain.

The Brazilian defensive midfielder has gone down the pecking order post the arrival of Ruben Amorim and he looks are all set to leave the club in the ongoing window. With him on lofty wages at United, a move away will surely benefit the Red Devils.

The Brazilian will move to the Middle East

The 32-year-old is closing in on a move to Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Sovereign Fund have practically sealed a deal but they are yet to decide which of their top club he will end up joining. Al-Nassr seem to be leading the race at this stage with their superstar Cristiano Ronaldo pushing for a reunion with the Brazilian.

While speaking on the program Os Donos da Bolas, Bruno Andrade said via Band: “The Saudis have a habit of deciding on the club later. There is a lot of talk about Al Nassr, but it is not yet certain. The decision on the club will be made later,”

“Casemiro is a player who is very close to leaving Manchester United. The Saudi Arabian Sovereign Fund, which manages the country’s main clubs, has practically closed the deal.”

A reunion with Ronaldo

The duo had a lot of success together at Real Madrid. They also shared the dressing room at Old Trafford before Ronaldo left for the Middle East. While their time in England wasn’t that great, the Portuguese skipper is pushing for a reunion with Casemiro as he feels it is a unique opportunity to strengthen his team.

The Brazilian could help them push for major titles. According to Marca via Band.com, Ronaldo has made the signing of his former teammate a condition for continuing at Al-Nassr with his contract running out at the end of the season.

While he will soon turn 40, Ronaldo is still going strong and the Saudi Pro League certainly need him to stay around for a little longer. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they do fulfil the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner’s request.
