So, the Paris Saint-Germain full-back has emerged as a target, with the 22-year-old informing the Ligue 1 club that he wants to join the Premier League outfit.
Les Parisiens will demand around £50 million to part ways with Mendes this year amid his desire to join Manchester United. Meanwhile, a report by TEAMtalk has revealed that the Frenchman’s talks with PSG regarding a new contract have stalled.
The rise of Nuno Mendes
Nuno Mendes has been one of the best young full-backs in the world in the last few years. A native of Lisbon, the highly-rated left-back graduated from the youth division at Sporting CP, with the player blossoming under the tutelage of Ruben Amorim, who now wants him at Manchester United.
The 22-year-old has been with PSG since August 2021, with Les Parisiens completing a permanent deal in the 2022 summer transfer window. The Portuguese international has turned out 100 times thus far for the Ligue 1 champions while chipping in with five goals and 13 assists. However, he has entered the final 18 months of his PSG contract, with talks over a new deal not going anywhere.
