Miguel Almiron offered to Crystal Palace, two other clubs

Intermediaries have offered Crystal Palace, Leicester City, and Wolverhampton Wanderers the opportunity to sign Miguel Almiron from Newcastle United this month.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Miguel Almiron will likely leave Newcastle United in the winter transfer window. The Magpies want around €20-25 million to part ways with the former record signing this month. Meanwhile, intermediaries have offered the Paraguayan international to Crystal Palace and two other Premier League clubs.

The rise and fall of Miguel Almiron

Miguel Almiron has endured a rollercoaster ride since joining Newcastle United from Atlanta United in January 2019. The Tyneside outfit coughed up a then-record sum to sign the South American attacker nearly half a dozen years ago. However, his spell at St. James’ Park might have reached the end of the line.

Almiron was exceptional in the 2022/23 season, enjoying a productive campaign that helped Newcastle United clinch a top-four finish in the Premier League. However, the experienced attacker’s stock has fallen since then, and he has managed only 300 minutes of game time across ten appearances in all competitions.

However, the Paraguayan international’s stock in the market remains high, with Olympiacos, Charlotte FC, Santos, Botafogo, Sao Paulo, and Palmeiras vying for his signature this month. Meanwhile, intermediaries have offered the 30-year-old out-of-favour Newcastle United forward to Crystal Palace and two other Premier League clubs.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Recent reports have suggested that Miguel Almiron is a target for Crystal Palace. So, receiving the opportunity to secure the Newcastle United attacker’s services might be a boon for the South London club if they remain keen on securing his services in the winter transfer window.

However, Newcastle United’s asking price is somewhat steep, with the Tyneside outfit demanding around €20-25 million to part ways with him this month. Considering Almiron’s age profile and declining form, he is not worth an outlay of €20-25 million. So, it will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace will meet Newcastle United’s valuation.

Meanwhile, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are the other two clubs who will receive the opportunity to sign the 30-year-old Paraguayan international. With all three sides in the relegation battle, signing a player with extensive Premier League experience might be a bright idea.
