Crystal Palace feel they can sign Ben Doak for £25 million

Crystal Palace reckon they can secure the services of 19-year-old Liverpool prodigy Ben Doak in a deal worth £25 million this month.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Ben Doak is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles have been scouring the market for an offensive reinforcement heading into the winter transfer window. So, the Liverpool prodigy has emerged as a target, and they feel they can secure his services in a deal worth around £25 million.

Meanwhile, a report by Football Insider has claimed that Liverpool will be a reluctant sell in the ongoing transfer window. While the Reds do not want to part ways with the Scotsman, they will demand around £25-30 million to part ways with the teenage sensation amid his links with Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town.

The Ben Doak story

Ben Doak has made considerable progress since joining Liverpool from Celtic in July 2022. A native of Dalry, the Scot spent most of his formative years in his homeland, starting his youth career in his hometown before passing through the academies at Ayr United and Celtic. However, he graduated from the setup at Liverpool FC.

The 19-year-old made his first-team bow for Liverpool in November 2022 but has managed only sporadic appearances since then. However, Doak has been solid during his loan spell with Middlesbrough this season, chipping in with two goals and six assists in 21 EFL Championship outings. But Crystal Palace will look to prematurely end his stint with Boro as they eye a winter move.

London calling?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Ben Doak is understandable. The Eagles have been scouring the market for a new attacker heading into the winter transfer window. So, several candidates, including Miguel Almiron, have emerged on Crystal Palace’s radar, with Doak also a viable target.

However, the Eagles have already failed with a bid to sign the Liverpool prodigy, although they believe they can secure his services for around £25 million. The report by Football Insider has claimed that the Merseyside outfit might demand slightly more than £25 million to sell the Scotsman.

Recent reports have also suggested that Liverpool’s asking price might be around £30 million. So, it will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace can convince the Reds to sell the 19-year-old Scottish attacking sensation for £25 million.
