West Ham United in transfer tussle to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin, AC Milan looking to beat the competition

West Ham United are all set to battle it out with Newcastle and AC Milan for the signature of Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

AC Milan are keen on reinforcing their attack and have their eyes set on Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin. According to a report from Caught Offside, the Serie A giants are ready to make a significant effort to beat the likes of West Ham and Newcastle United to his signature.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin came up the ranks at Sheffield United and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before making the move to Everton in the summer of 2016. He has been a key part of the Toffees’ first team over the years. While he has not been at his best of late, the English international remains one of the first names on their team sheet.

Everton consider him a key part of their plans moving ahead, but his future is uncertain, with his contract running out at the end of the season. Multiple top clubs are aware of his contract situation and are looking to make the most out of it.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin to join another Premier League club?

While the former Sheffield United attacker can still choose to continue at Everton, he turned down their most recent offer, giving hope to interested clubs. West Ham United and Newcastle United are two English clubs that are keen on signing the experienced Premier League campaigner.

With Danny Ings and Michail Antonio in the twilight of their career, the Hammers need a new number nine, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin certainly fits the bill. He has all the qualities to succeed under Julen Lopetegui. Meanwhile, the Magpies are looking to add more depth to their attack, and they feel the Calvert-Lewin could be an ideal fit for Eddie Howe’s system.

Newcastle United and West Ham were both keen on his signature last summer. They did hold talks to sign the 27-year-old, but things did not go according to plan. With his contract running down, both clubs have a great opportunity, although they will face significant competition from AC Milan.

AC Milan looking to take the lead

The Italian giants are looking to add more depth to their attack, and they are looking to steal a march on the competition in the ongoing transfer window. The team from Milan have a massive advantage as they can strike a pre-agreement with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in January with less than six months left on his deal.

While a move to San Siro could be a great opportunity, he will have a bigger role at Newcastle or West Ham. Milan have the upper hand at this stage. However, Calvert-Lewin is in no rush to make a decision giving the English clubs some hope.
