Aston Villa are all set to hold talks with PSG for their outcast Randal Kolo Muani, Unai Emery’s team could offer Jhon Duran in exchange.
According to a report from Football Insider, Aston Villa and PSG are all set to hold talks to discuss a potential swap deal involving Jhon Duran and Randal Kolo Muani. The French giants seek more firepower in the final third and they are keen on adding the Colombian striker to their ranks. In order to strike a deal with Unai Emery’s team, they are ready to offer 2022 World Cup finalist Kolo Muani plus cash.
Kolo Muani and Duran in 2024/25 season
Both Kolo Muani and Duran have had a contrasting season so far. The French striker has fallen out of favour under Luis Enrique. While he has been involved in 14 matches, the 26-year-old has racked up less than 500 minutes of first-team action and he only has three goal contributions to his name.
The PSG forward is surplus to requirements and they are looking to get him off their books. The French giants are ready to sanction his departure in January and make room for a top striker.
Meanwhile, Duran has been one of the standout performers for Villa this season. While Emery’s team haven’t been at their best, the Colombian striker has surely made a name for himself. Despite not being a regular starter, the 21-year-old has 12 goals in his 26 outings.
Duran surely has a bright future and his contract at Villa runs until the summer of 2030 but PSG are looking to prise him away in the ongoing window. They are looking to make the most out of the fact that he is not yet a regular in the team.
A swap deal involving Kolo Muani and Duran
They are keen on his signature and have no problems offering Kolo Muani’s services as a part of the deal. While Duran could do wonders for Villa in the long run, they could be tempted by an opportunity to raise funds and at the same time get a top-quality replacement in the French striker.
Emery’s team are believed to be interested in the 26-year-old FC Nantes graduate and according to the report, the Premier League outfit are all set to hold talks with PSG regarding a sensational player-plus-cash deal involving Duran.
The French outfit are all set to meet Villa next week to discuss the swap deal involving Kolo Muani and Duran. It will be interesting to see how things pan out.
