West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old Scottish international Kieran Tierney from Arsenal this year.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Kieran Tierney is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers have submitted an enquiry for the Arsenal outcast. However, the Scottish international is clear about his next destination, as he wants to return to Celtic before the winter transfer window.
Kieran Tierney and his Arsenal issues
Kieran Tierney has endured a rollercoaster ride since joining Arsenal from Celtic in a deal worth £25 million in August 2019. While the Scot made his mark in his debut season, he has struggled with fitness issues for much of his stint with the North London club, missing 114 matches for his club and country in the last half a decade.
The 27-year-old was promising during his loan spell with Real Sociedad before the injury bug struck again. A fitness issue also stopped Tierney from leaving Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and he has managed only 69 minutes of game time in his only appearance this term since returning.
However, with the Scottish international fit and available, he wants to resurrect his fortunes in the second half of the 2024/25 season. Tierney does not have a shortage of suitors vying for his signature, with Celtic and West Ham United among the clubs keen on securing his services.

Kieran Tierney has been on West Ham United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest from the East London club is understandable, considering Aaron Cresswell is in the twilight of his career. So, the Arsenal outcast is a viable target, and he can be a top-notch alternative to Emerson Palmieri.
As for Celtic, the Scottish Premiership champions are working on a deal to re-sign Tierney. While Alvaro Valle has been solid since arriving from Barcelona, he will likely return to the Catalan club later this year. So, the Arsenal full-back is an option worth considering for Celtic.
Meanwhile, Tierney will prefer to rejoin Celtic instead of moving across London to West Ham United. The 27-year-old Scot has already approved the return to his homeland, and West Ham’s enquiry has fallen flat.
