Manchester United plotting a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford and Victor Osimhen

Manchester United have their eyes set on Victor Osimhen and are ready to offer Marcus Rashford in a swap deal to sign the Nigerian international.

Marcus Rashford’s future has been a massive talking point in recent weeks as he doesn’t seem to be an important part of Ruben Amorim’s plans. The English international has been linked with a move away and Manchester United are reportedly ready to part ways with him in the ongoing transfer window.

The Red Devils are looking to reinforce their attack mid-season as they look to get things back on track. They are interested in acquiring the services of Victor Osimhen and according to a report from The Sun, United are ready to involve Rashford in a swap deal to sign the Napoli ace who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

The United graduate has not been involved in their last five outings, he wasn’t even a part of the squad for four of those games. It seems he has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Amorim and might not have a future at Old Trafford.

Amidst his uncertain future, Saudi Pro League giants have tried to lure him to the Middle East with a massive paycheck. Despite getting offers worth around £675,000 a week, Rashford has turned it down as he wants to continue playing at the highest level in order to earn his place back in the England team.

A swap deal involving Rashford and Osimhen

Rashford is keen on joining a top European club and there is interest in his services from Napoli. Antonio Conte is a big admirer of the 27-year-old and would love to have him in his squad. Meanwhile, Amorim is keen on bringing in a new striker in January to help end their struggles.

With Conte keen on Rashford, United seem to have an opportunity to bring Osimhen to Old Trafford. The Nigerian has a £62 million release clause in his contract. While he is currently on loan at Galatasaray, Napoli have the option to cut it short and sell him.

The 26-year-old is doing wonders for the Turkish club having scored 12 goals and bagged another five assists in just 15 outings and he can surely be of great help to United who are looking to part ways with Rashford as well as Joshua Zirkzee.

With the Red Devils struggling financially, Rashford’s departure will be a significant boost as he is a homegrown star. While they might not have the funds, a swap deal could surely tempt Napoli as Osimhen doesn’t have the best of relations with the Italian club and he is expected to be on the move sooner rather than later.
