Juventus might be able to fulfil their dream of signing Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee in the ongoing transfer window.
Juventus have been dreaming about reuniting Joshua Zirkzee with his former boss Thiago Motta and according to Corriere dello Sport via SportWitness, the Old Lady are increasingly likely to fulfil their dream of signing the Manchester United forward.
While things didn’t work out for Zirkzee at Bayern Munich, he made a name for himself at Bologna. On the back of his impressive performances, the Dutch international then secured a big-money move to United last summer.
He was off to a flying start with a goal on his debut but things have only gone downhill for him since. While the arrival of Ruben Amorim was seen as a ray of light for the 23-year-old, he hasn’t really had the best of times under the Portuguese manager.
Zirkzee has been linked with a move back to Italy since arriving in Manchester. While those reports were initially dismissed, those ideas have returned after United’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle. It was a horror outing for United fans and the Dutch international in particular.
He was subbed off in the 33rd minute and went straight down the tunnel while getting booed by a section of the fans at Old Trafford. While he was initially ready to fight for a place in the team, his position changed following the Newcastle game.
Juventus dream of Zirkzee signing
Amorim’s decision might have resulted in a wound that won’t heal easily. While his contract at United runs until the summer of 2029, Zirkzee’s current situation allows Juventus to dream about his signing.
The Old Lady want to revive their attack and they want to reunite Thiago Motta with Zirzkee. The duo had a lot of success together at Bologna and they could once again do wonders at Turin. He has all the skill set needed to fit into Motta’s style of play and Juventus are plotting a raid on United.
The Italian giants are looking to sign him on a loan deal without any upfront fee. It will also include an option to buy that could be triggered in the summer. The report suggests that Juventus are increasingly likely to get it over the line because of Zirkzee’s current circumstances at Old Trafford.
