Girona want permanent deal for Bryan Gil, Tottenham set price

Girona are interested in sealing a permanent move for the impressive Bryan Gil, with Tottenham likely to demand at least €15 million.

According to AS, Girona could explore the possibility of signing Bryan Gil permanently following his impressive loan spell this season. Tottenham have reportedly set their price tag for the Spanish attacker, as he has no future in north London when he returns from Spain.

Bryan Gil was supposed to be the next big star of the Tottenham project when they paid a hefty fee and allowed Erik Lamela to join Sevilla. The 23-year-old Tottenham attacker did not settle in well with the North London side, which has resulted in the Spaniard leaving on loan three times in the past few years.

Bryan Gil was part of Tottenham’s side last season, Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge of the team. While the Australian used the 23-year-old Tottenham attacker modestly, there were clear indications that he did not fit into their system, as he ended up joining Girona on loan for the current season

In Spain, Michel Sanchez has helped Bryan Gil regain his form and composure on the pitch while allowing him to play confidently. During the course of the season, the 23-year-old has already received a Spain call-up, and should that become a regular occurrence, his market value could increase exponentially in the future.

Girona wants to sign him on a permanent basis and could explore the likelihood soon with Tottenham. Michel could see Bryan Gil as an important part of the future, especially if they can manage another European finish at the end of the season, as the player might also prefer to stay where he is and build momentum towards stabilising his fluctuating career.

Tottenham set Bryan Gil’s price

Tottenham reportedly want €15 million to sell Bryan Gil as per the report, which might be seen as reasonable from Girona’s point of view. However, the 23-year-old’s deal at Spurs ends in the summer of 2026, meaning when he returns to north London, the Spaniard will have entered the final year of his deal there.

That does give Girona some hope of negotiating the price down with Spurs, and they might find modest success in that quest. In any case, the €15 million price point does seem reasonable for a Spanish international who continues to find ground in his existing environment, as a permanent move will suit all parties concerned.
