Richarlison has no interest in leaving Tottenham in the winter window. He is keen to help the team through a difficult period.
According to a report by Sky Sports, Richarlison has no interest in a winter departure from Tottenham. The Brazilian forward has suffered from two separate injuries this season, which have restricted his appearances. However, the attacker has no desire to make a swift exit and wants to help the team out in a difficult period.
Some might legitimately argue that the £60 million Tottenham paid to sign Richarlison in the summer of 2022 has been a waste of money. For a striker, the Brazilian’s numbers have been abysmal at best, although there is plenty of hope for him to revive his career in north London.
Despite reports that Tottenham could lower their asking price for Richarlison, it appears the attacker has no desire to leave the club at this very moment. Reports linking the Brazilian with an exit have been circulating since last summer, but he has remained firm in his stance to stay and fight for a place in this side.
His overall form and injury issues led to Tottenham spending a huge fee to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth this summer. Richarlison has suffered two separate injuries, the latest being a hamstring problem that has kept him out since October. He could potentially return sometime later this month.
There were further links to Flamengo and Fluminense leading to the winter transfer window, but Tottenham have no interest in selling the player back to Brazil for many reasons. Richarlison wants to return to the pitch and help this team out in the best way possible in the second half of the season to re-open the fight for a top-four place.
Richarlison’s long-term future at Tottenham in question?
Richarlison has not performed to his expected levels and has rarely come close to his previous displays while at Everton. It is no surprise that Spurs are already looking at several forward options, including Celtic’s Nicolas Kuhn and Barcelona’s Vitor Roque.
There is a clear need to bring in a support forward for Solanke, as Richarlison’s form for the club has been questionable. While the £60 million Tottenham attacker now appears to want to stay, his career may come to an end next summer if he fails to perform in the second half of the season.
