Everton are making plans to offer a bumper new deal for Jarrad Branthwaite to take him off the market once and for all.
According to Fichajes, Everton are plotting a bumper new contract offer for Jarrad Branthwaite to showcase how important they consider the defender. The Toffees are about to enter a new era with a change of ownership and a brand new stadium, as they are eager to keep hold of the key star for the long-term future.
Everton are growing increasingly frustrated at the constant questions about Jarrad Branthwaite’s future. The club are in no mood to entertain offers for the key star, as Manchester United experienced back in the summer when the Toffees stayed adamant over their valuation of the defender.
The 22-year-old is seen as a top talent by those in charge of Everton, and they are adamant about losing him to one of the big clubs. The Toffees are keen to show the player they have ambitions and are eager to see him become a central figure in their long-term project.
Many top clubs showing an interest have already baulked at the asking price, which has been widely reported as £80 million or more. Everton would certainly demand a fee which would be more than the record sum Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire all those years ago, meaning signing Branthwaite will not be an easy prospect.
Manchester City have already ruled out a January move, but that may not stop them from angling a deal in the summer. The same goes for Manchester United, who might not be in a position to splash the cash in January, as Ruben Amorim wants Branthwaite in his squad.
Everton keen to take Branthwaite off the market
Everton are aware of the big interest in Branthwaite, with Real Madrid also linked with a January move. The Toffees want to tie the player down to a lucrative new deal that could make him the highest earner at the club. They are willing to show ambition, although the final decision will be on the player and what he wants from his future.
Liverpool are also keen as they are eager to lock down a replacement for Virgil van Dijk, although there are difficulties in signing Branthwaite from Everton. The 22-year-old’s current deal expires in 2027, meaning next summer will be decisive for the Toffees with regards to the defender’s future, as that might be the best period to cash in, although with the new contract, they want to take Branthwaite off the market.
