Liverpool have no intentions of sanctioning the departure of their star forward Luis Diaz amidst interest from Barcelona.
Luis Diaz’s exceptional performances have attracted a significant amount of interest from across Europe. While multiple top clubs want to sign him, Liverpool have already made their stance clear.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, the Reds consider him an integral part of their project and they have no interest in negotiating his departure. Barcelona are one of the clubs that are interested in the Colombian international but they are unlikely to succeed in their pursuit.
Diaz arrived at the Merseyside club at the start of 2022. While he has been a consistent performer for them over the years, the 27-year-old seems to be at the peak of his powers this season.
He has 11 goals and three assists in his 23 outings across competitions. The Colombian forward’s performances have played a big part in their dominant run in the Premier League as well as the Champions League.
Barcelona’s interest in Diaz
His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and clubs are gearing up to make a move for him. Barcelona are one of the clubs that hold some serious interest in the winger. The Catalan giants consider him an ideal fit for their system.
The Spanish giants recently held talks with his player’s inner circle to understand more about his situation at Anfield. While Barcelona are ready to push hard and the player is also willing to make the move to Camp Nou, Liverpool have made it clear to Diaz that he is not for sale.
Liverpool won’t sell the Colombian
With his contract deal running until the summer of 2027, the Reds hold all the cards. More importantly, they are looking to offer him a new improved deal because of his consistent performances.
During contract renewal negotiations in December, the management made it clear to the player that they are very happy with his work and have no plans of sanctioning his departure in the upcoming transfer window.
While the Catalan giants are keen on his signature, they can’t afford to sign him because of their financial struggles.
