Italian giants Napoli are ready to make a move for Aston Villa ace Jhon Duran after scouting him this week.
According to a report from Ilmattino, Napoli are interested in acquiring the services of Jhon Duran. The Naples-based club are ready to make a move for his services and their representatives were in the stands of St James Park to watch him in action at the weekend.
Duran has taken his game to the next level since making the move to the Premier League from Major League Soccer. While things were not that great for him during the second half of last season, he has been on fire in the ongoing campaign.
In his 26 outings across competitions, the Colombian striker has found the back of the net on 12 occasions. Despite not being a regular starter under Unai Emery, Duran has had quite an impact off the bench. He averages a goal every 81st minute.
Multiple top clubs have taken note of his performances and they are looking to knock on the doors of Aston Villa for the signature of the 21-year-old. PSG are believed to be one of the clubs that are quite serious about their pursuit. The French giants are looking at ways to bring him to Paris.
Napoli plot a raid on Villa for Duran
Apart from the Ligue 1 outfit, there is a significant amount of interest in him from Italy. Napoli are the ones who are looking for more firepower in the final third of the pitch. Their coach Antonio Conte is believed to be an admirer of the young striker and would love to have him in his squad.
The Naples-based club recently watched him in action as they gear up to make a move. Their representatives were in the stands during Villa’s loss to Newcastle United at the weekend. The Colombian didn’t really have the best of nights as he was sent off the in 32nd minute.
Despite that, they still remain interested in his services. Napoli are not looking to make a move in the upcoming window, they will knock on Villa’s door during the summer. Giovanni Manna and club CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis consider Duran a dream target for their project.
With Villa looking for €45 million to part ways with the 21-year-old, Napoli are looking to offload a few of their players and raise funds for the transfer.
