Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Wolves attacking sensation Matheus Cunha.
Matheus Cunha’s future has become a big talking point. The Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker has attracted a lot of interest from across Europe on the back of his performances. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are three English clubs who seem quite interested in signing him. But, according to a report from TBR, the Brazilian international won’t push for a move away from the club in January despite the huge amount of interest.
Cunha hasn’t looked back since moving to Wolves from Atletico Madrid at the start of 2023. While it was an initial loan deal, the move was made permanent in the summer. He has been a consistent performer for the Premier League outfit and has made quite a name for himself.
While Wolves are struggling to get positive results, the 25-year-old has been one of their standout performers this season with 10 goals and four assists in his 18 league outings. The majority of his appearances have come in the number nine role but he is capable enough to feature anywhere in the frontline.
His goal-scoring prowess along with his versatility makes him a rare commodity. On the back of his exceptional record in the Premier League, some of the biggest clubs in England are after his signature. Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have all scouted the Brazilian.
Cunha to stay at Wolves despite interest from giants
The Gunners seek a world-class forward and Cunha could surely help their cause. With Marcus Rashford likely to leave the club, the Wolves forward could be an ideal replacement. As far as Liverpool are concerned, they are looking to prepare for life without Mohamed Salah and the Brazilian could prove to be a great acquisition for them.
While the 25-year-old has the skillset required to succeed at all three clubs and he seems to be aware of the increasing interest in his services, his camp have already involved Wolves that they won’t be pushing for a move away in January.
Despite all the talk about his future, Cunha is committed to the club and won’t leave them mid-season. Meanwhile, Wolves consider him an integral part of their plans and they are looking to open contract renewal talks with him. Even if they do manage to extend his stay, he is unlikely to be around for long with some of the biggest clubs pushing for his signature.
