Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham to step up Maxim De Cuyper interest

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing 24-year-old productive Belgian full-back Maxim De Cuyper from Club Brugge.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Maxim De Cuyper continues to gain popularity in the market from Premier League bigwigs. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the productive Club Brugge full-back, with the 24-year-old also a target for other English top-flight outfits, including Manchester City.

Who is Maxim De Cuyper?

Maxim De Cuyper has seen his stock soar since breaking into the first-team squad at Club Brugge several years ago. A native of Knokke-Heist, he began his youth career at KFC Heist a/z but has been with his current team since 2008. The youngster progressed through the ranks at Club Brugge before making his senior bow as a 19-year-old in February 2020.

The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the last five years but has become a mainstay at the back for Club Brugge since returning from a loan stint with KVC Westerlo. De Cuyper has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for the Belgian outfit while chipping in with six goals and 19 assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has alerted high-profile teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.

A man in demand

The Belgian international has been on Arsenal’s radar for several months, with the North London outfit scouting him in several outings. With Kieran Tierney not having a future at the Emirates and Jakub Kiwior facing an uncertain time, De Cuyper has emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interest in Maxim De Cuyper is understandable. While Marc Cucurella has come leaps and bounds under Enzo Maresca, Ben Chilwell will likely depart from Stamford Bridge next year. So, the Club Brugge full-back is an option worth considering for Chelsea.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, Ben Davies will likely depart from the North London outfit as a free agent next summer. So, they should dip into the market for a left-back, with De Cuyper emerging as a viable target. The latest report has claimed that Tottenham and the other two London bigwigs are ready to go all in to sign him.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Belgian international is also a target for Manchester City and Nottingham Forest. So, a move to the Premier League might be on the cards for the productive full-back amid his growing stock.
