Manchester United are reportedly willing to fork out €35 million to sign Tyler Dibling, although there are doubts about a winter move.
According to Fichajes, Manchester United are not baulking at Southampton’s €35 million asking price for teenage sensation Tyler Dibling. The teenage attacker has been a rare bright spark in an otherwise dismal season as the Red Devils plot a move for the 18-year-old breakout prodigy as part of their squad build-up under Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim’s tenure as the new Manchester United manager has been a topsy-turvy ride so far, with the Red Devils managing to win only four of their nine games in that period. Of those, only two victories have come in the Premier League, against Everton and Manchester City, and they have now suffered back-to-back defeats since their showing at the Etihad.
While many believe that Amorim has the talent and potential to bring this team near the top rivals, there are still many questions unanswered. One of the solutions would be to continue their squad building with new vigour, especially with INEOS eager to stress on buying young.
The record Premier League champions have been interested in Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, who has a host of clubs chasing for his signature. The 18-year-old, a breakout prodigy in the Premier League this season, certainly fits the criteria of what INEOS want in the transfer market, and now the Saints have slapped a favourable €35 million price tag on the versatile attacker.
Manchester United would be open to investing that kind of money in signing Dibling, as the report suggests the Saints star is one of the many players they have on their list. Amorim does need attackers and wingers of a different kind, and he could make use of someone like Dibling in varied roles.
Will Southampton sell Tyler Dibling in January?
Southampton are bottom of the pile in the Premier League standings, as they are in for a big fight ahead to ensure their survival in the top flight. Hence, the Saints are unlikely to part ways in the January window, although there is a certain feeling that Dibling will look to leave next summer.
Dibling has reportedly stalled on signing a new deal at Southampton, as the Saints are eager to keep hold of one of their most promising talents. Given his level of performance this season, it will be a shocker if the 18-year-old Premier League breakout prodigy does not leave the Saints once the season ends.
