Paris Saint-Germain are not ready to meet Manchester United’s demands for their star forward Marcus Rashford.
According to a report from Caught Offside, PSG are keen on acquiring the services of Marcus Rashford. However, they are not ready to pay the £50 million that Manchester United want to sanction his departure.
Rashford’s future has been up in the air for a while now. The Manchester United academy graduate has been one of their most important players since getting promoted to their first team in 2016. While he was amongst the best forwards in world football a few years ago, the 27-year-old has not been struggling for form in the last few seasons.
The Englishman is no longer a regular starter in the team, and his off-field behaviour has also attracted a significant amount of criticism. Rashford was left out of the squad for the game against Manchester City following which he suggested that he was ready for a new challenge.
While Ruben Amorim did make it clear that he still considers the English international a key figure in his team, he was once again left out of the squad for the Carabao Cup fixture against Tottenham. The player is frustrated by his role in the team and is looking to part ways with his childhood club.
PSG are not ready to meet Manchester United’s demands
Meanwhile, reports suggest that both the Portuguese manager and new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe are ready to cash in on the 27-year-old as long as their demands are met. PSG have emerged as a potential destination for the forward.
The Ligue 1 giants have a long-standing interest in him. They have held talks with Rashford back in the day and are once again reigniting their interest. While they are looking to bring in a world-class forward to help Luis Enrique take the team to the next level and the United forward is one of the names on their wishlist, the Ligue 1 club are not ready to meet the Red Devils’ demands.
Manchester United want £50 million to sell their star, and PSG are not ready to pay that big a fee for someone who is not in form and has been subject to a lot of criticism. They have already started looking at other targets.
