Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sanction the departure of their Brazilian forward Richarlison for €40 million.
According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham are ready to sell Richarlison for €40 million. The Brazilian international hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular starter at the North London club and they are open to a potential departure as long as their demands are met.
Richarlison made a name for himself while playing for Everton in the Premier League. He had a four-year-long stint at the Merseyside club before securing a big-money move to Tottenham in 2022. Spurs forked out a significant fee to sign the Brazilian forward who was heading into his prime years.
Unfortunately, the move hasn’t really worked out for either party. While the 27-year-old has showcased his qualities every now and then, he hasn’t been consistent enough. Injuries have troubled him and he has failed to establish himself a as key figure in the team.
He has only been involved in seven matches this season and hasn’t even racked up 200 minutes of first-team action. He has struggled to stay fit and while he still has well over two years left on his deal, there are a lot of question marks about his future at the North London club.
Flamengo will have to pay €40 million for Richarlison
The Brazilian international could end up leaving Europe altogether as Flamengo have emerged as a potential destination for him. They have massive ambitions and want to sign a star forward who can help them dominate South American football.
While Richarlison has been struggling for consistency in the Premier League, the Brazilian club are confident in his abilities and they feel his international experience could come in handy. They have already submitted an offer worth €21 million for the Tottenham forward but it has been turned down by Postecoglou’s team.
Spurs are open to negotiating his departure but they won’t let him leave in the cheap. The North London club feel Richarlison still has time on his hands and his versatility make him an important squad player, as a result, they will only let him go if an interested club tables an offer worth €40 million. While Flamengo could certainly present an improved offer, it will be interesting to see if they can meet the demands of Tottenham.
