Manchester United and Newcastle United have received a boost in their pursuit of Southampton sensation Tyler Dibling, who is stalling on signing a new deal.
According to a report from talkSPORT, Tyler Dibling could part ways with Southampton in the near future. The English youth international has stalled contract renewal talks and it is a massive boost for clubs like Manchester United and Newcastle United who are keen on his signature.
The Saints have been going through some of the most difficult times. Things are not really working out for them as they are currently bottom of the Premier League with just one win in their 16 outings.
They recently parted ways with Russell Martin and are currently on the lookout for their next manager. Surviving relegation will be a massive challenge for them and things could get even more difficult as the future of some of their key stars has become a massive talking point.
Dibling could be one of their stars who ends up leaving the club. The teenager got promoted to their first team in the summer and he is already a key part of the senior side.
He has been involved in a total of 17 matches in his debut campaign and has contributed towards three goals. While he prefers playing out wide on the right, the 18-year-old can feature on the left as well as a number ten.
Dibling could leave Southampton
Dibling has had a phenomenal rise this season. While he has the potential to be a special player for them, the Saints will find it very difficult to hold onto this star amidst interest from Manchester United and Newcastle.
Both clubs have scouted the young winger of late and they could raid Southampton for his signature. The Red Devils are looking to target young stars under their new ownership while the Magpies are also looking to build a team for the long run.
Staying up already looks like an impossible task and keeping hold of Dibling could be equally difficult as he has stalled contract renewal talks. He feels disrespected by the manner in which these talks have been handled.
While his current deal runs until 2027, the Saints were looking to offer him a new deal with improved terms to secure his long-term future. Unfortunately, they haven’t succeeded in their plans and it now presents United and the Magpies with a perfect opportunity to raid the Saints for one of their best players.
