Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Newcastle and Bournemouth target Real Madrid’s defensive duo Fran Garcia and Raul Asencio.
Fran Garcia and Raul Asencio could both move to the Premier League in the near future. Clubs from England are keen on their signature and they could soon make a move to lure them away from Real Madrid.
According to a report from Fichajes, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are keen on signing Asencio while Bournemouth look quite interested in acquiring the services of Fran Garcia.
Asencio has come up the ranks at Real Madrid and got promoted to their first team last summer. He wasn’t really in the plans of Ancelotti for the ongoing season but an injury crisis at the back resulted in him getting his debut for the senior side.
Not only did the 21-year-old centre-back make his debut, he put in quite a few impressive performances in the heart of the defence. While he has shown great promise, Asencio might not get regular first-team minutes at Real Madrid going forward. As a result, he could look to move away in search of a more prominent role.
Will Asencio move to the Premier League?
Aston Villa and Newcastle United are two clubs that are interested in the Spanish youth international. Both Unai Emery and Eddie Howe seek more depth at the back. They want to bring in a young central defender who can help them in the long run and Asencio seems to fit the bill.
While he doesn’t have much experience, his impressive rise at Real Madrid and his recent performances have convinced the clubs that he can do the job in the Premier League. Irrespective of whether Villa signed him or Newcastle, there will be a buy-back clause in his contract along with a sell-on clause of around 40%.
Bournemouth want to sign Garcia
Bournemouth who are currently 7th in the English top flight are also looking to reinforce their backline. They are looking to add more quality out wide on the left flank. They are interested in the services of Fran Garcia who has been putting in impressive performances for Los Blancos since returning to the club from Rayo Vallecano in the summer of 2023.
While Garcia is an important squad player, the team in white are currently plotting a move for Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and his arrival could certainly result in the Spanish international’s departure. The Cherries are willing to fork out €20 million to add the 25-year-old full-back to their team. They are impressed with his ability to contribute on both ends of the pitch and are willing to try their luck to sign him.
