Arsenal and Fulham are reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old Brazilian midfield whizkid Breno Bidon from Corinthians.
According to a report by Brazilian outlet Trivela, Breno Bidon is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are scouring the market for a playmaker amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Andreas Pereira, with the Corinthians midfielder emerging as a target. Meanwhile, the Brazilian whizkid is also a target for Arsenal.
Who is Breno Bidon?
Breno Bidon is the latest highly-rated prospect to rise in prominence in his homeland. A native of Sao Paulo, the South American midfield prodigy has spent his formative years thus far in his hometown, passing through the academies at three clubs. He has progressed through the ranks at Corinthians before breaking into the club’s first-team squad.
The 19-year-old made his senior bow for Corinthians in the 2024 season and has already turned out nearly 50 times thus far for the Serie A outfit while chipping in with one goal and two assists. Meanwhile, Bidon’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe.
The highly-rated midfielder, who turns out for Brazil’s under-20 side, has piqued the attention of Premier League outfits, in particular. Arsenal and Fulham are vying for the signature of the Brazilian wonderkid, with a move to London on the cards for the teenage prospect.
London calling?
Arsenal’s interest in Breno Bidon is understandable. Thomas Partey and Jorginho are on the wrong side of 30 and fast approaching the twilight of their careers. In addition, Fabio Vieira faces an uncertain future at the Emirates. So, Arsenal should invest in a midfielder, with several candidates, including Bidon, emerging as viable targets.
As for Fulham, Andreas Pereira’s long-term future has left the West London club in a spot of bother. The Brazilian international is a target for several Premier League clubs, forcing Fulham to scour the market for a replacement. So, several midfielders are on the Cottagers’ radar, with Bidon also being an option worth considering.
However, the Corinthians whizkid will not come cheap, considering he has a release clause worth €100 million in his contract. While the Brazilian club might not insist on recouping €100 million, the 19-year-old will likely command a premium fee amid his links with Arsenal and Fulham.
