Real Madrid keen on Gabriel Magalhaes

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid are keen on acquiring the services of Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes.

According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid are interested in signing Gabriel Magalhaes as they look to reinforce their defence in the near future. Los Blancos seek depth at the back and the Arsenal mainstay is quite high on their wishlist.

Gabriel made a name for himself while playing for LOSC Lille before securing a move to North London in the summer of 2020. The Brazilian centre-back has slowly established himself as a key figure in the Arsenal first-team.

The 26-year-old has been a consistent performer for them at the back and his efforts have made him one of the best defenders in the world. He has been involved in 19 games this season and even has four goals to his name.

The left-footed centre-back is one of the first names on the Arsenal team-sheet and Mikel Arteta is determined to keep hold of him despite all the interest in his signature. With his contract running out in 2027, the Gunners do not really need to panic but there is serious interest in him from Real Madrid which could complicate things.

Real Madrid want Gabriel Magalhaes

Los Blancos lack depth at the back. They had quite a few problems at the back last season because of injuries. While Ancelotti did help them get past that, the team in white parted ways with Nacho in the summer and they couldn’t bring in a replacement.

With David Alaba and Eder Militao out injured, Real Madrid once again find themselves in a spot of bother. As a result, they are looking to add a world-class defender to their squad and Gabriel is just the perfect fit for them.

The Brazilian centre-back brings defensive solidity, he is a leader on and off the pitch and he has the ability to build from the back. While the Spanish giants would love to have him at their disposal, they will struggle to secure his services.

The 26-year-old is valued at around €75 million and Arsenal do not intend on negotiating his departure for anything less than €100 million. Even if a club comes in with a massive fee, they could turn it down as Mikel Arteta wants to keep the core of his squad intact.
