Real Madrid have identified Manchester United defensive sensation Diogo Dalot as a priority target for the upcoming transfer window.
Real Madrid are keen on reinforcing their defence in the upcoming transfer window. Los Blancos want to bring in a new right-back following Dani Carvajal’s injury and according to a report from Fichajes, the Spanish giants will prioritise a move for Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.
The Portuguese full-back was a part of the FC Porto setup back in the day. He broke into their first team at the start of 2018 and a six-month spell with their senior side was enough to convince United to secure his services.
He has gone from strength to strength over the years since joining them. Dalot who even had a short loan spell at AC Milan is now an integral part of United’s first team. Despite the managerial changes, he remains a key figure in the team.
Ruben Amorim is believed to be a big admirer of the 25-year-old right-back and sees him as a key part of his plans moving ahead. While he prefers playing on the right flank, Dalot can feature on the left and he can even be a wing-back when needed.
In the ongoing season, the United defender has featured in a total of 21 matches and has contributed towards two goals. His consistent performances along with his versatility have resulted in a significant amount of interest.
Real Madrid want to sign Dalot in January
Spanish giants Real Madrid have been linked with the youngster of late. Carlo Ancelotti’s men suffered a massive blow when Carvajal picked up a season-ending knee injury. With him out for a while and Lucas Vazquez having fitness concerns, Los Blancos are looking at the winter window as an opportunity to reinforce their squad.
They want someone who can cover for Carvajal for now and in the long run, be their preferred choice at right-back. Dalot’s ability to feature in multiple positions and his attacking threat make him an ideal fit for the team from Madrid. He is their priority target at this stage.
But, they won’t find it easy to strike a deal for his services as his contract at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2028. The Red Devils have the upper hand and as per the report, they won’t let go of him for less than €50 million. While Dalot is an exceptional talent, Madrid might find it difficult to fork out that kind of a fee mid-season.
