Tottenham are reportedly closely monitoring Real Valladolid attacking sensation Raul Moro ahead of a potential transfer.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur will look to further bolster their attack when the transfer window reopens in January. They want to add more quality and depth on the flanks and according to a report from Give Me Sport, Spurs are regularly scouting Raul Moro ahead of a potential move.
Things did not work out for Moro at Barcelona’s famous youth academy La Masia. But, he did get things back on track with a move to Lazio. While he did get promoted to the Italian club’s first team back in 2021, he never really got an extended run in their senior side.
In search of regular first-team action, he ended up joining Real Valladolid last summer. While it was an initial loan deal, the move was made permanent in the summer on the back of his impressive performances. Moro has had an exceptional start to the new season.
Raul Moro has racked up over 1,000 minutes across 14 appearances and has even contributed towards four goals. While he prefers playing on the left flank, he has done equally well on the opposite flank.
His performances have attracted a significant amount of interest from across Europe. Tottenham are one of the clubs who seem quite interested in the 21-year-old winger. While Postecoglou’s team had a difficult start to the new season, they have been on a roll of late. The Australian wants to build on that and he seeks more firepower as he looks to help Spurs end their trophy drought.
The Tottenham boss wants to add more quality on the flanks and he is quite impressed with Moro’s consistent performances in the Spanish top flight. While he is not yet ready to be a regular starter for the North London club, they want to invest in him for the long run.
Tottenham scout Moro, Liverpool also keen
Having signed quite a few youngsters in recent transfer windows, they want to add Moro to their squad in January. Tottenham have been sending scouts to watch the Spanish youth international action. Technical director Johan Lange has asked members of the recruitment team to keep a close eye on him and the feedback seems to be quite positive.
With the player earning less than £17,000-a-week wages at Valladolid, the wages won’t be a problem for Spurs. But, with his contract running until 2028, they will surely have to convince the Spanish side to sell one of their best players mid-season. They will most likely hold out for a fee of around £9 million.
Apart from the financial side of things, Liverpool will also cause problems for the North London club. The Reds seek more quality on the flanks and they have also been scouting the youngster on a consistent basis. As a result, they can surely complicate things.
