Newcastle United are serious about landing Motherwell talent Lennon Miller, with a host of other clubs also keen.
According to TBR, the race for Lennon Miller saw Newcastle United enter in a big way, as Eddie Howe’s side are keen to add the young star to their team. Celtic are also eager to secure the Motherwell prodigy, while a host of Premier League giants are chasing as well.
Lennon Miller had his breakthrough season with Motherwell last time out, and he’s been a regular for Motherwell since. A midfielder by trade, the 18-year-old prodigy is renowned for playing in a defensive mould as well as featuring in the attacking line, as he has shown the maturity to adapt to different game states.
Miller’s impressive start to his senior career has already brought some of the big clubs to Motherwell’s doors. Some of the big Premier League sides are interested, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Aston Villa, the latter of which showed interest back in the summer.
These are the clubs that are increasingly desperate to acquire the best young talents from other clubs, and Miller certainly fits their criteria. The 18-year-old prodigy’s talents have also attracted the likes of Celtic and arch-rivals Rangers, although media reports have indicated that a move to England might be more attractive for the time being.
The 18-year-old prodigy could now have a chance to join Newcastle United, an English club very close to Scotland. Eddie Howe’s side are increasingly looking like a serious contender for Miller ahead of the next window, as Motherwell might be helpless in preventing a sale for the young talent.
Newcastle United a solid option for Miller
Compared to some of the other clubs, Newcastle United are probably in a period where they are building their young side brick by brick. They have recently made some interesting signings in the way of young stars to build for the future and would see Miller fit into that mould.
Motherwell are reportedly seeking at least £5 million to sell the 18-year-old prodigy, which would suit Newcastle United and the other Premier League sides. There’s a huge chance that Miller leaves in January, and for now, his next destination seems like England, with the Magpies hoping he chooses them over their rivals.
