Manchester United are not interested in the prospect of letting attacking duo Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund leave the club.
According to Caught Offside, Manchester United are set to retain their faith in attacking duo Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund. The two stars are considered key to the club’s present and future, and despite links with an exit, Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to work with them.
The arrival of Ruben Amorim into this otherwise difficult Manchester United side has raised many questions about the future of many of their current stars. The Portuguese boss already faced scrutiny following a terrible performance from the team in his first game in charge against Ipswich Town last Sunday.
Marcus Rashford scored an early goal, but since then, Manchester United has been pinned back by Ipswich Town, and the final result ended in an eventful draw. There are questions about whether many of their current players fit into Amorim’s system, which refers to a back three and the usage of wing-backs.
Rashford, who started in the centre-forward role ahead of Rasmus Hojlund, has been linked with an exit for a long time. The English attacker has links to PSG, while the Danish striker, Hojlund, is also being reportedly linked with an exit.
Manchester United, for its part, is not interested in letting the attacking duo leave the club anytime soon. Both have long-term contracts at the club, and Amorim is reportedly keen to work with them in the present and the future.
Rasford and Hojlund set for Manchester United stay
In Erik ten Hag’s last many games as Manchester United’s manager, he had continued to prefer Hojlund to lead the line ahead of summer arrival Joshua Zirkzee. The former coach had also used Rashford in that No.9 role many times, but in truth, the English forward’s preferred position remains on the left.
As Manchester United prepares to keep hold of Rashford and Hojlund, Zirkzee’s future could come into question. The Dutchman is already thinking about an exit following his failure to gel with the team and their style of play. Hence, the signs point towards the former Bologna man departing soon, while the other two are set for long careers at Old Trafford, at least for the time being.
