Manchester United and Arsenal are all set to battle it out with Newcastle United for the services of Brentford attacking sensation Bryan Mbeumo.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Newcastle United are both keen on having Bryan Mbeumo in their squad. Both Premier League outfits are quite impressed with his consistent performances and they are ready to battle for his signature.
Mbeumo came up the ranks at French club Troyes. On the back of an impressive season with their first team, he made the move to Brentford in the summer of 2019. The 25-year-old has only gone from strength to strength over the years.
He has established himself as a key figure in the Bees’ first team and has been a consistent performer for them. The Cameroonian international has been in impressive form this season having scored eight goals and bagged an assist in his 12 league outings.
The right-winger’s performances have put him on the radar of Arsenal and Newcastle United. While he prefers playing on the flanks, Mbeumo can feature as a false nine and an out-and-out striker when needed.
Liverpool are keeping tabs on him as well. Mohamed Salah will be out of contract next summer, and they are keeping tabs on the Brentford winger as a potential replacement.
Mbeumo could join a bigger Premier League club
His versatility along with his form are major reasons why two top clubs in the Premier League are after his signature. Arsenal seek more quality up top as they have become over-reliant on Bukayo Saka. Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard haven’t been able their best and Mikel Arteta would love to have a versatile star like Mbeumo in his squad.
He could be an ideal cover for Saka and can lead the line for them as the number nine role is not the ideal position for Kai Havertz. Meanwhile, Newcastle are also looking to reinforce their attack. They are looking to part ways with Miguel Almiron and with star-striker Alexander Isak’s future uncertain, Mbeumo could be the perfect signing to add depth to both positions.
The Cameroonian international’s current deal at Arsenal runs out in the summer of 2026. With just over 18 months left on his deal, there are high chances of him moving to a bigger club in the near future. His manager Thomas Frank also believes he will soon be playing for a top club. The Bees are ready to negotiate his departure and they are ready to accept an offer worth around £40 million.
