Everton are reportedly working a way out to sign Luiz Henrique from Botafogo this January, as Sean Dyche has funds available.
According to Football Insider, Everton are reportedly working on a deal to sign Luiz Henrique. Negotiations could commence between the Toffees and Botafogo to bring the 23-year-old South American attacker to Merseyside, as the Brazilian international continues to attract interest from other Premier League clubs as well.
Luiz Henrique’s stock has risen over the last period of this season, as he now seems destined to become a regular with the Brazilian national side. He has been impressive for his club, Botafogo, throughout the season, where he has featured 50 times for them in all competitions and contributed a great deal to the attacking numbers.
His stay at the club could be short-lived, as Botafogo only signed him back in January. In the process of bringing him from Real Betis, Botafogo beat the likes of Everton to get their hands on the South American attacker, as now the Toffees are eager to re-enter the race for the Selecao star.
Sean Dyche will demand reinforcements ahead of the January window as Everton has found themselves again warding off the threat of relegation. The Toffees are near the bottom three after 12 games on board in the Premier League season, as some enforced changes could drastically change their season.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future will be a big subject ahead of the January window as he has an expiring contract. Given Evertopn’s financial troubles, it will be in the club’s best interest to find a decent fee for their striker as well as a replacement in the next window.
Everton have funds available in January
Henrique is seen as a player who can fill in a number of roles, including the No.9 spot, as well as feature out wide. Botafogo wants a reported fee of £25 million, as they will not sell for anything less. Many other teams who have considered the South American attacker ahead of January have so far Baulked at the price tag, but the Toffees are keen.
Given the £25 million price tag will be something that Everton will think a hundred times before splashing on Henrique, it’s believed that Dyche will be given the funds. The Toffees face a challenging time in January, and in their chase of the South American attacker, they do face competition as Fulham and Crystal Palace are also keen.
However, for the time being, it appears that Everton could get a deal done if they manage to pay what’s needed for Henrique, as well as convince the player of the move. They are working on something in the background with regard to the Brazilian international, as things could get moving soon.
