Manchester United could reportedly consider offering Antony in exchange for Real Madrid prodigy Arda Guler, but a deal is unlikely to materialise.
According to Defensa Central, Manchester United could ponder a way to get rid of Antony and bring in Real Madrid prodigy Arda Guler. The Red Devils are willing to offer the 24-year-old flop in exchange for the Turkish international, as a deal might not seem likely given the circumstances at both ends.
There are many possibilities ahead of the January window, as clubs will likely look to spend less cash and get better value in terms of deals. As for Manchester United, they have a big hole in the way of Antony burning a hole in their pockets.
The Red Devils no longer rate the Brazilian and view the massive fee spent on the 24-year-old flop as a waste of money. Manchester United have already considered the possibility of letting loose the player and allowing him to challenge elsewhere.
Antony is not eager to leave Manchester United, as they are eager to recoup some of the proceeds from a sale and use it to fund new transfers for new boss Ruben Amorim. New reports state that Antony could be given a lifeline under the new manager, although only the January window will give a clearer picture.
The Red Devils are also plotting an ambitious plan to get rid of the 24-year-old flop, with the report stating they are willing to offer Antony in exchange for Arda Guler. The Real Madrid prodigy is currently considered a far superior talent than the Brazilian, and it’s very difficult to see a deal of that kind materialising.
Antony-Guler swap unlikely
There were other rumours with Antony that Manchester United wanted to swap him for Flamengo talent Lorran. However, the Brazilian is unlikely to want a return to his homeland and will want to continue his career in Europe, although he would be enticed by the prospect of playing for Real Madrid.
The big problem here is that while Real Madrid might consider a loan exit for Guler, they are invested in having the Turkish international for the future. Hence, any deal seems unlikely as the Spanish side value the prodigy highly and is unlikely to have any interest whatsoever in signing the 24-year-old flop Antony.
