Arne Slot ready to sanction Liverpool sale of Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher next year

Arne Slot is reportedly willing to give the green light to Liverpool to part ways with the long-serving goalkeeping duo of Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher might not have a long-term future at Liverpool FC. Arne Slot is ready to sanction the departure of the long-serving goalkeeping duo after signing Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in the summer transfer window.

Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher have been arguably the best goalkeeping pair in the world in the last few years. While the former is comfortably the finest shot-stopper of his generation, the latter has made his mark whenever he has taken the field in Alisson’s absence.

The Brazilian international joined Liverpool from AS Roma in July 2018 and has turned out over 250 times thus far for the Merseyside outfit while keeping 119 clean sheets and conceding 239 goals. However, Alisson’s long-term future at Anfield is uncertain amid his links with Saudi Pro League clubs.

As for Caoimhin Kelleher, the Irishman has been with Liverpool since July 2015, and he graduated from the youth division at the Merseyside club. The 25-year-old has managed only 55 appearances thus far for Liverpool, with game time coming his way when Alisson has been unavailable.

Recent reports have linked Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher with moves away from Liverpool, with the Merseyside club’s acquisition worth £30 million of Giorgi Mamardashvili possibly contributing to their departure next year. While Alisson wants to stay at Anfield, Arne Slot is willing to sanction his exit next year.
