Real Madrid full-back target Alphonso Davies is keeping his options open amid interest from Barcelona and Manchester United.
According to a report from Fichajes, Alphonso Davies has not committed his future to any club, and he is keeping his options open ahead of a potential transfer next summer. He has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, while Barcelona and Manchester United also remain in the mix along with the option to pen a new deal at his current club Bayern Munich.
Davies joined the Bavarian giants at the start of 2019 after making a name for himself while playing for Major League Soccer outfit Vancouver Whitecaps. He has gone from strength to strength since then, establishing himself as one of the best young full-backs in the world.
The 24-year-old Canadian international’s long-term future has been a major talking point in recent months. His current deal at Bayern Munich runs out at the end of the season and with the player potentially available for free next summer, multiple top clubs are pushing for his signature.
European giants to battle for Davies
Real Madrid have been linked with Alphonso Davies for a while now. Los Blancos are looking to reinforce their backline, and they consider the Bayern Munich full-back to be an upgrade at left-back. Recent reports had suggested that the team in white had an agreement in place to sign the Bayern defender.
His agent Nedal Househ has responded to the rumours, making it clear that he has not committed to anything yet. The option of penning down a new deal at Bayern Munich and extending his stay in Germany is on the cards. The club are pushing hard to keep hold of their star.
The Bundesliga giants have already offered him a new deal of around €12 million per year ,which will place him amongst the highest-paid players at the club. But, Alphonso Davies is not ready to commit to his future. With Real Madrid not willing to enter a bidding way with Bayern, Barcelona and Manchester United have emerged as potential destinations.
Hansi Flick is a huge admirer of the Canadian international. Having worked with him during his time at Bayern, the German manager is keen on bringing him to Barcelona. Meanwhile, Manchester United are keen on signing the 24-year-old as they do not want to keep relying on Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia who have had a lot of fitness issues in recent seasons.
