Liverpool will have to battle it out with rivals Arsenal and Tottenham to sign 21-year-old Valencia midfield sensation Javi Guerra.
According to a report from TBR, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are looking to reinforce their squad in the upcoming winter transfer window and they are interested in acquiring the services of Javi Guerra. All three Premier League clubs have been monitoring him in the ongoing season and could soon make a move for him.
Guerra was a part of the Villarreal youth ranks before he made the switch to Valencia in the summer of 2019. He went up the ranks at some pace and got his first taste of senior football in 2022. He got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2023 and has only gone from strength to strength since.
The 21-year-old Spanish youth international has managed to establish himself as a key figure in their first team and he has already featured in 61 games for the senior side. Guerra has been on the wishlist of Barcelona and Real Madrid for the past 12 months.
Guerra could be heading to England
Apart from the Spanish giants, his impressive rise and consistent performances have also attracted interest from England. Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are keen on signing the Spanish midfield sensation who prefers playing as a central midfielder but can even feature in a more advanced role.
All three English clubs have been keeping tabs on him for a while now and could knock on the doors of Valencia in the upcoming transfer window. The Reds are at the top of the Premier League, they have made an exceptional start to life under Arne Slot and are looking to further bolster their squad to ensure they can continue to push for major titles in the second half of the season.
Arsenal are also looking to end their wait for the league title. While they haven’t been at their best, they are still in the thick of things and Mikel Arteta seeks more quality in midfield to compete with other top clubs. Meanwhile, Tottenham are fighting for a top-four spot and they would love to add another young star to their squad after a sloppy start to the new campaign.
While Guerra is protected by a massive €100 million release clause, Valencia could let him leave for a fee of around €30 million which is quite an affordable figure for all three English clubs.
