Manchester United revive Harry Kane interest

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing 31-year-old English striker Harry Kane from Bundesliga club Bayern Munich next year.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Harry Kane is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are weighing up signing a striker next year, with the Bayern Munich attacker emerging as a target. The Bundesliga heavyweights will likely part ways with the England captain if they receive an “astronomical offer” for him.

Harry Kane and his prolific career

Harry Kane has continued being one of the best players in the world since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in a big-money deal in August 2023. While the Englishman’s wait for his first major trophy as a senior footballer continues, he has left no stone unturned to help Die Roten win multiple titles.

The 31-year-old was the top scorer in the Bundesliga last season and will likely win the Torjägerkanone again this term. Kane has contributed to 26 goals in only 16 appearances across all competitions thus far by finding the back of the net 17 times and providing nine assists. 11 strikes have come in the Bundesliga, with Omar Marmoush level with him on top of the scoring charts.

However, Kane’s long-term future at Bayern Munich is uncertain, with high-profile clubs across Europe keen on securing his services in the 2025 summer transfer window. Manchester United will be one of the prospective suitors for the English international next year.

Premier League return on the cards?

Manchester United hold a long-standing interest in Harry Kane, and they mulled over signing the Englishman in the summer transfer window before the move failed to see the light of day. However, it is unclear why the Red Devils are still keen on landing the former Tottenham striker next year.

While Rasmus Hojlund’s output can improve, he has shown promising signs and should make swift progress with the desired supply. Joshua Zirkzee faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after a far-from-memorable start to life as a Manchester United player. However, recent reports have suggested that Viktor Gyokeres is a top target for the Premier League club.

Nevertheless, Kane can be a solid short-term solution for Manchester United, considering his output in the final third. It will be interesting to see if the productive 31-year-old English striker returns to England by joining Manchester United next year.
