Manchester United are ready to offer summer signing Joshua Zirkzee in a deal to sign Sporting CP ace Viktor Gyokeres.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Manchester United are plotting a move to sign Viktor Gyokeres. The Red Devils want to reunite new boss Ruben Amorim with the Swedish international at Old Trafford. They are ready to sacrifice Joshua Zirkzee as a part of the deal to make it happen.

It has been a handful of days since former Sporting CP boss Amorim took charge of United. He is expected to bring in quite a few changes at the Manchester-based club. Apart from the tactical side of things, there will be quite a few changes in terms of the players.

While he has given his word to the Portuguese club that United won’t raid them for their most valuable assets during the winter, they have been linked with quite a few of his former players and could make a move for them next summer.

United plot a player plus cash deal to sign Gyokeres

Viktor Gyokeres who has attracted a lot of interest from across Europe is on the wishlist of United and they are plotting an audacious player plus cash deal to sign the Swedish international who has scored 66 goals in his 68 outings for Sporting.

The 26-year-old has 23 goals in 18 outings this season and Amorim would love to have him at his disposal at United. But, signing him won’t be easy as he is protected by a massive €100 million. To make things easier the Red Devils are looking to include Joshua Zirkzee as a part of the deal.

United acquired his services from Bologna last summer. While they invested in the 23-year-old with an eye on the future, it seems they have already decided to let go of him. He has been involved in 17 matches for the English giants and only has a goal and two assists to his name.

While he has the potential to be a special player, the Manchester giants are more interested in signing Gyokeres who has been in red-hot form and is fully aware of what Amorim wants from his number nine.
