Jakub Kiwior informs Arsenal of exit desire, Juventus to step up interest

Juventus are all set to step up their interest in the services of Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, who seeks a winter exit from the Emirates.

According to a report from TBR Football, Jakub Kiwior is struggling to get any game time at Arsenal and is now looking to push for a move away from the North London club when the transfer window reopens in January. The Pole has informed the Gunners that he woud like to return to Italy, where Juventus seem ready to step up their interest in his services.

Kiwior joined Mikel Arteta’s team at the start of 2023 in a move worth around £20 million. The Polish international had made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances at Spezia and was expected to be an important part of Arsenal’s first team.

While he has been involved in 45 matches so far, Kiwior has not been able to establish himself as a key figure under Mikel Arteta. He has been used as a backup for most parts. He has been involved in just seven matches this season and has not started any of their Champions League or Premier League games.

Despite the fact that William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jurrien Timber have all been unavailable for certain games in recent weeks, Jakub Kiwior still has not had enough opportunities. The 24-year-old is frustrated by the lack of minutes and does not want to continue sitting on the sidelines.

Kiwior could reunite with Thiago Motta

Jakub Kiwior has informed the North London club that he wants to leave in the upcoming transfer window and that he would love to return to Italy if an opportunity presents itself.

While Arsenal would love to have him around to ensure they have enough depth, they are unlikely to stand in his way with the player keen on returning to Italy. The Pole is looking for a fresh start and he could reunite with his former Spezia boss Thiago Motta at Juventus.

The Old Lady are looking to reinforce their backline on a priority basis, with Gleison Bremer out injured and Juan Cabal suffering a suspected anterior cruciate ligament rupture. With the duo set to be out for the rest of the season, Motta could push to bring Kiwior to Turin.

The Serie A giants have been interested in the Polish international even before Cabal got injured and with two defenders expected to be out for a while, it will only make sense for them to push for his signature. But, it won’t be easy to sign him as there are other Serie A clubs who are interested in his signature.
