Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are looking to secure Belgian attacker Leandro Trossard’s future with a new long-term deal.
According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal consider Leandro Trossard an integral part of their first team and they are looking to secure his long-term future with a new contract. The Gunners are in talks with the Belgian forward and are hoping to strike a deal in the near future.
Trossard made a name for himself while playing for Brighton. His consistent performances for the Seagulls helped him secure a move to the North London club in the winter of 2023. He might not be one of the first names on the team sheet but the 29-year-old has surely established himself as a key figure in the team.
So far he featured in 83 matches for them and has contributed towards 33 goals. The Belgian winger has featured in all of their Champions League and Premier League games this season.
While his contract at Arsenal runs until the summer of 2026, people at the club are worried about his long-term future amidst interest in his services from the Middle East. Al-Ittihad made a late attempt to sign him in the summer but the Gunners turned down their approach.
Arsenal want to renew the contract of Trossard
Saudi Pro League clubs retain interest in the 29-year-old and could return for him in the near future. Arsenal are aware of the situation and they do not want to lose out on Trossard. While West Ham are also keen on his signature, the former Brighton star is not interested in joining the Hammers.
In order to keep him in their ranks, Arsenal are ready to offer him a new long-term deal. They are in talks with the player regarding a contract renewal. It is one of their priorities as Trossard has been one of the go-to men for Arteta since joining the club.
The Spanish manager wants to add more quality to his attack. He is looking to sign a new top-quality forward and has no intentions of losing out on any of his attackers at this point.
