Manchester United contemplate Joshua Zirkzee winter sale

Manchester United signed Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna in the summer transfer window, and a January departure may be on the cards.

Joshua Zirkzee was expected to help with Manchester United’s goalscoring problems, but he has not been able to adapt to English football so far. According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Manchester United are already contemplating a winter sale for the Dutch striker.

Recent reports have claimed that Serie A clubs willing to provide him with an exit route in January. Clubs in Italy are keeping tabs on his situation, and it remains to be seen whether they come forward with an official offer to sign the player.

The attacker earns €3.5 million per season at Manchester United, and the Red Devils will look to get his wages off their books, especially if he continues to underperform. It will be interesting to see if they can recoup the money they paid for him.

The Dutch international was highly rated across Europe before his move to Manchester United, and there is no doubt that he has the talent to succeed in English football. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are willing to give him another opportunity to salvage his career at Old Trafford.

Zirkzee deserves more patience

Joshua Zirkzee has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in England and perhaps the Red Devils will have to be more patient with him. Selling him in January would be quite surprising. The Dutchman needs time to get used to English football.

Also, he joined a team that was already underperforming, and there have been managerial uncertainties at the club as well. It remains to be seen whether the new manager can get the best out of the player. Ruben Amorim could play a key role in his development.

Manchester United are already lacking in depth in the attacking unit, and selling the striker could prove to be a mistake. They need to hold onto him until the summer transfer window and replace him adequately if he fails to impress over the next few months. Selling him in January would be a premature decision for the Red Devils.
