According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid will have the opportunity to re-sign Sergio Ramos. The reigning La Liga champions are desperately scouring the market for a centre-back after losing Eder Militao to a season-ending knee injury. However, Florentino Perez has ruled out a move for the former club captain, even though the coaches favour his return.
Sergio Ramos and his celebrated career so far
Sergio Ramos has enjoyed a legendary career since turning professional over two decades ago. A native of Camas, the Spaniard spent his formative years in his homeland, starting his youth career at his hometown club before graduating from the youth division at Sevilla FC.
However, Ramos saw his stock skyrocket during his illustrious spell with Real Madrid, spending over a decade and a half at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 38-year-old started as a right-back before becoming one of the best centre-backs in the world while being an inspirational figure as the club captain.
During his tenure, Real Madrid won every trophy multiple times, including a historic three-peat in the UEFA Champions League. The Spanish defender turned out nearly 700 times for Los Blancos while chipping in with an astonishing 101 goals and 40 assists. The veteran defender also enjoyed a fabled international career, winning one World Cup and two European Championships with Spain.

Since leaving Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos has had spells at Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla but has become a free agent since leaving the Andalusian club as a free agent in the summer. The 38-year-old has offered his services to Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti’s coaching staff favouring the move.
