La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are all set to battle it out for the services of 16-year-old Georgian wonderkid Saba Kharebashvili.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via AS, Saba Kharebashvili’s exceptional rise at Dinamo Tbilisi has caught the attention of quite a few top clubs. The teenage sensation finds himself on the wishlist of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Of late, Georgian football has only gone from strength to strength, and quite a few of their young prospects have ended up making the move to Europe’s top leagues. Kharebashvili could soon follow that path as La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are ready to battle for his signature.
The teenage sensation has been a part of the Dinamo Tbilisi setup since his childhood days. Kharebashvili went up the ranks at a phenomenal rate and made his debut for them at the age of just 15.
While he was officially promoted to their first team earlier in the summer, the 16-year-old is already a regular feature in their senior team.
The young left-sided full-back has featured in 25 matches for their first team and has bagged two assists. He has also made his debut in the qualifying stage of the UEFA Champions League.
The Georgian wonderkid prefers playing as a left-back, but he can also feature on the opposite flank, as a defensive midfielder and as a left-winger.
Kharebashvili could be headed to Spain
The teenager’s exceptional rise has not gone unnoticed, and there is no shortage of interest in his services. Real Madrid, who are always on the lookout for young stars to further strengthen their squad, have noticed his exceptional rise and are working to bring him to the Bernabeu.
But, Los Blancos won’t find it easy to sign the versatile defender, who has made quite a name for himself because of his maturity and technical skills as rivals Barcelona are also keen on his signature. The Catalan giants have him on their wishlist, and they will make things difficult for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
Meanwhile, Dinamo Tbilisi have taken steps to strengthen their ties with Spain. They are partnering with a Spanish organisation and establishing an office in Barcelona as they look to pave a path for their young stars to join the top leagues. This move suggests there is a high possibility of Kharebashvili moving to Spain.
