Sevilla are interested in acquiring the services of Arsenal defensive sensation Jakub Kiwior who could move clubs in January.
Sevilla will be looking to reinforce their squad at the turn of the calendar. While they will be looking to add more quality to quite a few areas on the pitch, bringing in a new centre-back could become a top priority as Loic Bade’s future looks uncertain.
According to a report from Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla are interested in the services of Jakub Kiwior. The Polish centre-back has been on their radar for a while now. With Bade expected to be on the move, the Spanish club’s sporting director Victor Orta will look to sign the Arsenal defender to replace him.
Kiwior’s impressive performances at Spezia Calcio resulted in a lot of interest in his services. Arsenal managed to win the race for his signature by forking out €20 million. While the 24-year-old is considered a big prospect, he hasn’t had much game time under Mikel Arteta.
The young centre-back has been restricted to just seven appearances so far and frustrated by the lack of minutes in important competitions, Kiwior is pushing to leave the club in January. He doesn’t intend to wait until the end of the season.
Sevilla want to sign Kiwior in January
Sevilla have emerged as one of the potential destinations for the Polish international. Orta had him on his wishlist when he first took charge of the Spanish club in 2023. While he couldn’t sign him back then, the La Liga outfit retain interest in the 24-year-old.
While they are planning about making quite a few changes in the summer, they could be forced into signing a new top-level defender as the interest in Loic Bade’s services continues to rise at an alarming rate. Sevilla might not be able to turn down a multi-million dollar deal and they have already started planning for life without the French centre-back.
They consider Kiwior to be an ideal replacement but signing him won’t be easy as clubs from all across Europe are after his signature. With no shortage of interest, Arsenal will look for a permanent sale and Sevilla’s finances might only allow an initial loan deal.
