Liverpool prepared to offer €70 million to sign Omar Marmoush

Liverpool are willing to make a huge offer in the January window for striker Omar Marmoush, with Eintracht Frankfurt studying the possibility of an exit.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool are getting serious about their interest in Omar Marmoush, with a €70 million January bid in the works. The Merseysiders are eager to prise the Eintracht Frankfurt star to Anfield in the next window, with the Bundesliga side already studying the impact of the forward’s departure.

Liverpool to make Omar Marmoush bid?

Omar Marmoush has already made himself indispensable following a stellar start to the season with Eintracht Frankfurt. He has ten goals in the Bundesliga, only one behind top scorer Harry Kane, and six assists to his name. He has further struck three more times in other competitions, which reads for a stellar start to the campaign.

Frankfurt are currently third in the standings and could push for the title challenge or a top-four place. In any case, Marmoush is a key player for the club, and he was only signed in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer. The Bundesliga goal machine’s current form has already attracted a lot of interest from the Premier League, with clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool watching him regularly

Manchester City have also considered Marmoush as a potential future replacement for Erling Haaland should the Norwegian depart next summer. Liverpool are the ones who are taking strides towards the Bundesliga goal machine, with the report stating they are willing to make a €70 million bid for the striker.

Arne Slot has been thinking about bolstering his attacking setup with a new striker. Diogo Jota has been Liverpool’s starting centre-forward this season, with Darwin Nunez relegated to a bench role for most parts. However, the Reds boss feels the need for a new face there, as they have expressed an interest in Marmoush

Frankfurt are studying the idea of Marmoush’s departure

Should Liverpool come through with the reported €70 million bid, it will be difficult for Frankfurt to turn it down, given the financial impact the sale could have. Considering they signed the Egyptian on a free transfer, the fee would be a massive gain on their books. Marmoush is also open to joining Liverpool, with the club one of the player’s preferences should he leave Frankfurt.

However, Frankfurt are also studying the impact of the player’s departure in January, which could potentially derail their title charge or a top-four hunt. Alternatively, they could sell as there’s a chance that Marmoush’s value could diminish in the second half of the campaign if he fails to score much, and that’s a risk they might not take if Liverpool are coming up with big money for the Bundesliga goal machine.
