Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly keen on acquiring the services of former Real Madrid attacking sensation Nico Paz.
According to a report from Fichajes, Nico Paz’s impressive performances for Como have put him on the radar of Arsenal. The Gunners are always on the lookout for young players with huge potential, and the young midfielder has placed himself on their wishlist.
Paz joined the Real Madrid youth setup back in 2016. He went up the ranks at some pace and was promoted to their B team in the summer of 2023. While he had already featured in eight matches for their first team and looked all set for a promotion to the senior team, he ended up joining Serie A outfit Como in search of regular first-team action.
Since making the move in the summer, Paz has featured in 11 league games and he has contributed towards five goals (1 goal, 4 assists). The attacking midfielder has made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances, and his work has not gone unnoticed.
The youngster seems to have learned a lot under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas in a very short time and is showcasing his true potential on the pitch. His consistent performances for Como have put him on the radar of Mikel Arteta’s team.
Arsenal interested
While the Gunners have a top-quality squad full of superstars, they are constantly looking for players who can help them in the long run and Paz seems to fit the bill. He can be an ideal cover for Martin Odegaard and his ability to feature in a deeper role as well as out wide on the right flank suggests he could be a great signing for the Premier League title contenders.
Nico Paz is an important part of the Como first team, and his contract there runs until the summer of 2028. While the Serie A outfit won’t let him leave on the cheap, they might not be able to hold onto the 20-year-old sensation for long given the kind of clubs that are interested in his signature.
