Marcus Rashford is expected to be under the firing line at Manchester United upon the arrival of new boss Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim will be taking charge at Old Trafford in a week’s time and he will be looking to restore order at the Manchester-based. His arrival will put a few of United’s underachievers in the firing line and according to a report from GiveMeSport, Marcus Rashford will be singled out for close scrutiny.
Rashford’s recent struggles at United
The English international has come up the ranks at United and he has been a part of their first team setup since the start of 2016. While he was already a big name in the world of football as a teenager and did hit his peak a few seasons back, Rasford has only gone downhill in recent seasons.
He was valued at around £90 million two years back when he had bagged 30 goals in a season but his value has gone down to just £50 million as he is struggling to find the back of the net. More importantly, he hasn’t been consistent enough and is not having the kind of impact one expects from him.
The 27-year-old could only manage eight goals last season and he hasn’t had an ideal start to the new campaign. While Rashford‘s career slump went unchecked under Erik Ten Hag’s management, that is unlikely to be the case under Amorim who will be starting his tenure on 11th November.
Taskmaster Amorim to take charge at Old Trafford
The Portuguese manager made a name for himself because of his ability to get things back on track at Sporting helping them win major titles. Apart from that, he even managed to get the best out of his players.
The 39-year-old has earned a reputation as someone who can be your greatest ally if you stick to his method and your greatest enemy if you don’t follow his path.
While it seems to be an exciting time for the Red Devils and their fans, the players will be under pressure to prove themselves to the new boss. The underperformers will be the ones who will have to turn things around to ensure they remain relevant under Amorim.
Rashford hasn’t been at his best for a while now but he is only 27 and still has quite a few years left in him. As a result, the Portuguese manager will try to get the English international back to his best as the £300,000-a-week could be key to turning around the situation at United.
