Arsenal are ready to test Eintracht Frankfurt with a €40 million offer for midfield sensation Hugo Larsson, with Liverpool and Tottenham also monitoring the situation.
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are willing to make a €40 million January offer for Hugo Larsson and test Eintracht Frankfurt’s resolve. The Gunners are looking to recruit in midfield for the long term, and Larsson is a profile they like. However, they face competition from the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool for the Swedish star.
Arsenal to make Hugo Larsson offer?
Hugo Larsson has been rising in stature in the Bundesliga, especially this season, with some tremendous performances for Eintracht Frankfurt. The Swedish midfielder has been one of the club’s top midfielders since joining from Malmo in a €9 million deal in the summer of 2023, and now he could go for much more.
He has been their top performer this season, and Frankfurt is on a good run in the Bundesliga. Several clubs have already made enquiries about the 20-year-old’s availability ahead of future windows, as many have been keen to take him since last January.
Larsson could have a few offers ahead of January, with Arsenal one of those keeping tabs on the midfielder. Mikel Arteta has seen a need for a new man in the middle of the park for the long term, considering he has two ageing midfielders in Jorginho and Partey, one of whom will need replacing.
The Gunners are willing to test Eintracht Frankfurt with an offer of €40 million in the January window, although the German side continues to value the 20-year-old at almost double that. Hence, from the price point t, it would be a massive problem for Arsenal, although they could yet cement their case in the chase for Larsson ahead of future windows.
Liverpool and Tottenham keen on Larsson
The Gunners aren’t the only players in town for Larsson. Liverpool and Tottenham are also keeping close tabs on the midfielder’s situation. Spurs and the Reds are keen, as either set of managers is eager to bring a young midfielder into their system.
Arne Slot has been craving a new option in the central areas, while Ange Postecoglou also seeks someone different from his current options. Both those clubs, as well as Arsenal, have the financial muscle to make a deal for the player, although any decision will rest on Frankfurt, who secured the 20-year-old to a new deal earlier in October 2024.
