Viktor Gyokeres apparently has no interest in a move to Manchester United, which would scupper Ruben Amorim’s hopes of signing the Swede.
According to Record via Sport Witness, Viktor Gyokeres has no interest in joining Manchester United ahead of future windows. The reason for this disinterest is apparently the club’s positioning in the hierarchy of the English league, as they are reportedly ‘disorganised, unstable and permanently on fire’.
That’s the reason given in the report from Record when it comes to Viktor Gyokeres’ reasons not to want a move to Old Trafford. The Swedish striker has been a firebrand at Sporting CP since he arrived at the club and is undoubtedly their best player under Ruben Amorim.
Amorim is set to take the reigns at Manchester United soon, after the two parties agreed to a deal. However, he remains in charge of Sporting for the upcoming games. He’ll take over the club in the coming period, and already there are links to some of the Sporting players.
Gyokeres remains one of those stars, and the media reports have indicated that Manchester United may have an advantage in the race due to Amorim’s presence. It’s not rare for players to follow certain managers to their next clubs, and in the Swede’s case, he has realistically developed into the star he is under the 39-year-old’s tutelage.
Many other sides are keen on Gyokeres, but if Manchester United sign him, they can solve a goalscoring problem that has been plaguing them for some time now. However, the report from Record clearly states that the 26-year-old goal machine is not interested in the move, citing that the club is disorganised, unstable, and permanently on fire.
Gyokeres not interested in Manchester United?
Given that Manchester United are not in the running for the title challenge as of now while also struggling in the Europa League, these factors do make the club an unattractive prospect. However, the fact remains that the Red Devils are one of the biggest football clubs on the planet, and it’s rare for players to reject an approach given the finances and the chance of playing at Old Trafford brings to their respective careers.
In Gyokeres’ case, the reasons given in the report seem absurd. However, if other clubs in the Champions League come in for the 26-year-old goal machine, then it’s a different conversation, as the Swede might have a big choice to make from the sporting side of things.
