Liverpool are preparing to table an offer worth €100 million to secure the services of Real Madrid midfield star Aurelien Tchouameni.
Liverpool are looking to reinforce their squad, and they have their eyes set on Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni. According to a report from Fichajes, the Reds are looking to submit a €100 million offer in January to lure the utility man to Anfield.
Tchouameni has been a consistent performer for Los Blancos since joining them in 2022 from AS Monaco. While he has done most things right and helped them win the UEFA Champions League as well as La Liga, the 24-year-old defensive midfielder’s future has become a big talking point of late.
The Frenchman’s ability to feature as a defender as well as in different roles in the centre-back have bailed out Carlo Ancelotti on quite a few occasions. But, reports suggest the French international has not lived up to the lofty expectations.
He has been a touch inconsistent, and Los Blancos could consider offers for his services as it will help them carry out a squad overhaul in 2025. By raising funds from his departure, they could bring in a younger alternative and strengthen other areas on the pitch.
Liverpool to break the bank for Tchouameni
While multiple top clubs have been linked with the former AS Monaco star, Liverpool have emerged as the most likely destination for the young midfielder. The Reds wanted to bring in a new defensive midfielder during the summer, and they did go all out to sign Martin Zubimendi.
But, the Real Sociedad midfielder turned down the opportunity. Now, Liverpool are looking at the versatile Tchouameni as someone who can bolster their squad and help them compete with the best teams in the world. The Reds are ready to splash the cash to sign him and according to the report, the Merseyside club are ready to offer €100 million for his signature.
Wataru Endo is Liverpool’s only out-and-out defensive midfielder, which makes it quite clear that they do need reinforcement in that areas. Liverpool are confident about Tchouameni succeeding in the Premier League, and they are willing to break their transfer record to bring him to Anfield. It will be interesting to see how things pan out over the next weeks.
