Newcastle could loan out Vakhtang Salia after his arrival

Newcastle United’s latest recruit, Georgian sensation Vakhtang Salia, may not feature for the club until 2026.

According to a report from Football Insider, Vakhtang Salia who will officially join Newcastle United in the summer of 2025 might not feature for them until 2026 as the Magpies are considering sending him out on loan as soon as he arrives at the club.

Salia has been a part of the Dinamo Tbilisi setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and made his debut for the first team in 2023. The teenage forward has already scored seven goals and provided two assists for the senior side.

His consistent performances have helped him feature in different age groups for Georgia. While the Dinamo Tbilisi striker is only 17, he has featured for his national team at the Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 levels.

He prefers playing as a nine but he can start as a false nine as well as on the left flank when needed. His huge potential had put him on the radar of multiple top clubs from across Europe and quite a few of them were involved in a transfer tussle to secure his signature.

Salia unlikely to feature for Newcastle until 2026

But, Newcastle managed to come out on top. Post their takeover, the Magpies have always been on the lookout for players who can help them in the long run and Salia can surely be a special player for them in the future.

They have already confirmed his signing and he will be making the move to the Tyneside club after he turns 18 in August 2025. While he will officially be a part of the Newcastle setup next summer and is expected to be a part of their pre-season camp, Salia might not feature for them next season.

In order to ensure he gets regular first-team action and continues his development at a similar rate, the Magpies will look to send him out on loan. He could be sent away from the club immediately after joining them. He might not feature for them until 2026 but the Georgian sensation is surely a great signing by the Magpies given the kind of potential he has.
