Liverpool rival Arsenal in Arda Guler chase

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing 19-year-old Turkish wonderkid Arda Guler from Real Madrid.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool and Arsenal are keen on providing Arda Guler with an exit route from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions would demand around €80 million for the Turk’s services.

The Turkish wonderkid has struggled for regular game time at the Spanish club, and he needs to move on in search of regular football. Sitting on the bench at Santiago Bernabeu is unlikely to benefit him. It will be interesting to see if any club is willing to pay the asking price for him.

Arda Guler is regarded as a world-class talent, and he might not be worth €80 million now. However, he could justify that outlay in the future. Guler has shown glimpses of his talent with Real Madrid and the Turkish national team over the last 12 months. He could be a future star with the right guidance.

Liverpool could use his creativity, passing and vision. His ability to take on players and beat them will add some much-needed unpredictability to the Liverpool attack as well. If the Reds end up losing Mohamed Salah as a free agent, the Real Madrid wonderkid could be an interesting option to have.

Even though the teenage sensation is not a winger, he can slot into wide areas, and he could fill the creative void left by the Egyptian. Liverpool also mulled over signing Arda Guler in the summer transfer window. So, the continued interest is understandable.

Arsenal keen on Arda Guler

Arsenal are interested in Guler as well. They have been overly reliant on Martin Odegaard for goals and creativity from the midfield. The Real Madrid wonderkid could support the Norwegian and his ability to slot into multiple roles could allow Mikel Arteta to rotate his team more often.

Both Premier League clubs have the finances to pay €80 million for a player they are truly keen on. However, Guler is quite young, and paying that kind of money for him might be seen as a gamble. It remains to be seen what the two clubs decide.

The Turkish international will probably hope to stay at Real Madrid and prove his worth with them. However, the Real Madrid prodigy could forced to consider an exit if things do not improve in terms of game time.
